Restoration Progress

We will be doing a brand-new paint job on this Cadillac, so this means pulling all the chrome off and media blasting down to bare metal. We will also be pulling the engine to put a modern fuel injection Chevrolet engine.

Working on pulling the engine from the car.

We removed the fenders and bumper to get ready for the new paint job.

Torn down the interior door, soon all of the interior will be out.

Starting to remove the trim.

Everything has been removed and out of the way for the conversion.

The new transmission has arrived.

Disassembling the firewall.

The new Moser engineering 12 bolt rear end has arrived.

We have gotten all of the interior upholstery removed.

We have gotten the engine mounts fabricated and are ready to weld them in.

Cutting out part of the frame to accommodate the new engine.

Completed engine bay metal fabrication.

We have installed the new rear end.

Getting ready to install in the new Chevrolet Performance L96 6.0L 360 HP engine.

The new Chevrolet Performance L96 6.0L 360 HP engine is almost completely installed.

We have installed the Chevrolet Performance L96 6.0L 360 HP engine.

We have installed the proportioning valve, master cylinder and brake booster for the power brake conversion.

We have gotten the inner wheel wells and core support installed.

We have gotten the radiator installed into the core support.

Custom built cool air intake has been installed.

The Flowmaster exhaust system was custom built to fit the vehicle.

We chemically and mechanically stripped the exterior of the vehicle.

Getting ready to spray primer on the body.

Doing some slight bodywork on the body.

Block sanded the roof and quarter panels to prepare for paint.

Preparing the car for the roof to be painted.

Fresh, new paint on the body of the car.

Removed the old insulation from under the dash.

Installed Dynamat for the new insulation.

We moved the fenders, doors and deck lid into the paint booth to be painted.

The power switch to the dash lights had a small piece brake off. So we restored the switch and section that feeds power to the dash lights.

The fenders, doors and deck lid have been painted black.

We have gotten the vacuum canister, horns, hood latch, inner fenders and core support painted.

Installed AC hoses and AC system, along with the wiring for the power antenna.

We have installed Dynamat where the driver and passenger seats go.

Broke down the seats to clean up the frames and make new upholstery.

We have gotten the front and rear bench seats wrapped in decking.

Making the decking to insulate the frames for the bench seat.

Sewing the insert sections for the seats.

Starting to install the trim back on the car.

The wing window on the passenger side has been installed.

Installation of rocker trim has been completed.

Drivers side mirror and both driver and passenger side window trim installed.

Preparing the rear windshield to be installed in the vehicle.

The new rear windshield has been installed back into the vehicle. We have replaced the old drain hoses with new ones.

The rear windshield trim has been installed.

The dash and steering column have been removed.

The dash has been repaired and is ready to go back into the vehicle.

The interior door panels have been installed.

The front bumper has been installed.

The carpet padding has been laid out along the floor.

We have laid down the carpet over the carpet pad.
