Your Rig, Built for the Trail — Not Just the Parking Lot
Most shops bolt on parts. We build overland rigs.
Texoma Classics is a full-service overland vehicle builder in Texas, operating out of our fabrication shop in Sherman, TX. We design, fabricate, and install complete overland and off-road setups for 4Runners, Tacomas, Gladiators, full-size trucks, and just about anything with a transfer case. Whether you're planning a week-long backcountry traverse through Big Bend or just want a rig that handles every ranch road and fire trail in North Texas without flinching, we build vehicles that perform when pavement ends.
This is not a parts counter. It's a 4x4 fabrication shop where custom metalwork, suspension engineering, and electrical systems come together under one roof.
What We Build
Suspension & Lift Systems
A quality suspension lift does more than add ground clearance. It transforms how your vehicle handles load, absorbs terrain, and tracks at speed on washboard. We install and tune setups from Old Man Emu, King, Fox, and Icon — matched to your vehicle's weight, intended use, and the gear you plan to carry. A Tacoma hauling a rooftop tent and a full drawer system in the bed needs a different spring rate than a stripped-down trail runner. We spec it accordingly.
Custom Bumpers & Armor
Off-the-shelf bumpers work for some rigs. For others, they don't fit the mission — or they simply don't exist. Our fabrication team builds custom front and rear bumpers, skid plates, rock sliders, and underbody armor from plate steel and chromoly. We also install bumpers from ARB, CBI, and Coastal Offroad when the right solution already exists. Every weld is structural. Every mount is reinforced. If you've seen "fabrication" that's really just a grinder and some rattle-can paint, you'll notice the difference here.
Electrical & Dual-Battery Systems
Overlanding demands power. Fridges, lighting, communication gear, air compressors, USB charging — and none of it should depend on your starting battery. We design and install dual-battery systems with proper isolation, fuse management, and wiring that's routed clean and built to last. Rigid Industries light bars, Baja Designs pods, switch panels, and auxiliary power outlets — all integrated into a system that makes sense, not a rats' nest behind the dash.
Storage, Drawers & Rack Systems
A well-organized rig is a faster, safer, more capable rig. We build and install custom drawer systems, MOLLE panels, cargo platforms, and roof rack mounts tailored to your specific vehicle and loadout. Whether you're running a GoFastCampers setup, a Prinsu rack, or need a one-off bed storage solution that fits around your wheel wells and spare tire, we fabricate what the catalogs don't carry.
Rooftop Tents & Camping Integration
We mount and integrate rooftop tents from GoFastCampers, Alu-Cab, and 23Zero — including reinforcing roof structure where needed, running interior lighting, and building access ladders that actually stow properly. The tent is just the visible part. The real work is making sure your roof, rack, and vehicle can handle the dynamic load mile after mile on rough terrain.
Built for How You Actually Use It
Every overland build starts with a conversation about where you're going and what you need when you get there.
Maybe you're a seasoned rig builder with a 4Runner that's already seen three sets of tires and you're ready to go full expedition — long-range fuel, a Warn winch, onboard air, and a complete electrical overhaul. You know exactly what ARB compressor you want and where you want it mounted. We'll execute your vision with the fabrication quality it deserves.
Or maybe you just bought a Gladiator, watched a dozen YouTube build videos, and the aftermarket options are overwhelming. You don't need a parts list. You need someone to sit down, understand how you plan to use the truck, and build a phased plan that gets you on the trail without blowing your entire budget on day one. Start with suspension and tires. Add armor and storage next season. Electrical and a rooftop tent after that. Every phase builds on the last, and nothing gets ripped out or replaced because it was done wrong the first time.
That's how we work. Your build, your pace, your priorities — with the fabrication capability to build what doesn't exist off the shelf and the systems knowledge to make every component work together.
Why Overlanders Choose Texoma Classics
Real Fabrication, Not Just Installation
We're a custom 4x4 fabrication shop. CNC plasma, MIG and TIG welding, tube bending, plate forming. When your build calls for something that no catalog carries — a one-off bumper to clear your winch and light bar, a custom skid plate for a non-standard exhaust routing, a drawer system that fits your specific bed configuration — we make it. This is the difference between an outfitter and an installer.
Brand-Agnostic, Build-Focused
We work with the brands that perform: ARB, Warn, Old Man Emu, Rigid Industries, GoFastCampers, King Shocks, CBI Offroad, and more. We don't push house brands or upsell unnecessary parts. The recommendation matches the mission.
One Shop, Complete Build
Suspension lift installation, custom bumpers, full electrical, storage systems, armor, and camping integration — all under one roof in Sherman, TX. No farming out your rig to three different shops and hoping it all comes together. One team, one build, one standard of quality.
Serving the Texoma Region and Beyond
Located right off US-75 in Sherman, we're an easy drive from Dallas Fort Worth, Denison, Gainesville, and the broader North Texas corridor. We regularly build rigs for owners across the Texoma area and beyond — if you're willing to drive to get it done right, we're the overland outfitter near Dallas Fort Worth worth the trip.
From Bolt-Ons to Full Expedition Builds
Whether you need a single component installed or a ground-up overland build planned and executed over multiple phases, Texoma Classics has the fabrication chops, the systems knowledge, and the shop capacity to get it done. We've built rigs that have hit trails across Texas, the Ouachitas, Colorado high country, and Baja — and they come back ready for more.
Overlanding is personal. Your rig should reflect how you travel, where you go, and what matters to you out there. We're here to build exactly that.
