Automotive Painter & Body Shop Technician
Mix, apply, and finish paint on classic car restorations at our Sherman, TX shop. $30–$45/hr.
About the Role
Texoma Classics is seeking an experienced Automotive Painter & Body Shop Technician for classic car restoration work at our shop in Sherman, Texas — approximately one hour north of Dallas.
Responsibilities
- Perform metal repair, welding, and patch panel installation
- Paint classic vehicles with an emphasis on high-quality finishes using custom and restoration techniques
- Execute surface preparation including sanding, priming, and masking
- Mix and match paint colors using our computer-aided system
- Operate painting equipment in controlled booth environments
- Follow OSHA safety regulations and maintain an organized workspace
- Document materials, tasks, and time in computer systems
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Automotive Painter & Body Shop Technician
- Classic car restoration experience preferred
- Knowledge of automotive paints, primers, and finishes
- Expertise in metal repair and welding (TIG and MIG)
- Fiberglass work experience, particularly with Corvettes
- Personal tools and reliable transportation required
- Strong attention to detail
- Portfolio of past work is requested
- Authorization to work in the United States
- High school diploma minimum; 2+ years of relevant experience
