Auto Body Restoration Technician

Texoma Classics in Sherman, Texas is seeking an experienced Auto Body Restoration Technician to join our expert team. We specialize in high-quality classic car restorations and are looking for a skilled professional who takes pride in their craft. This is the bodywork and finish role — everything that makes a panel straight, true, and ready for paint.

Responsibilities

- Metal repair, welding (TIG and MIG), and patch panel fabrication and installation
- Rust repair, panel replacement, and setting consistent panel gaps
- Apply body filler and block sand panels straight
- Complete surface preparation — sanding, priming, masking, and guide coats
- Cut, buff, and polish after paint
- Fiberglass repair, especially on Corvettes
- Disassemble and reassemble trim, glass, and hardware
- Follow OSHA safety regulations while maintaining an organized and clean workspace
- Document materials, tasks, and time in computer systems

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Proven experience in automotive body repair; classic car restoration highly preferred
- Expertise in welding (TIG and MIG), patch panel installation, and metal shaping
- Strong block sanding and body filler work — straight panels are the job
- Fiberglass work experience, especially with Corvettes
- Spraying is handled by our painter, but the ability to spray is a plus — we like having backup coverage for the booth
- Personal tools and reliable transportation required
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines
- Portfolio of automotive body work is required
- Authorization to work in the United States
- High school diploma minimum; 2+ years of relevant experience
