1958 Cadillac Series 62 – The Cadillac Series 62 is a legendary series of cars which was produced by Cadillac from 1940 through 1964. Originally designed to replace the entry level Series 65, it became the Cadillac Series 6200 in 1959, and remained that until it was renamed to Cadillac Calais for the 1965 model year. The series 62 was also marketed as the Sixty-Two and the Series Sixty-Two.
For classic car enthusiasts, the 1958 Cadillac Series 62 is a true gem. It features a new grille design with multiple round “cleats” at the intersection of the horizontal and vertical members, giving the car a distinctive look. The grille insert is wider, and new bumper guards are positioned lower to the parking lamps. The car also features new dual headlamps and small chrome fins decorated on the front fenders. While the tailfins are less pronounced, the trim attachments have been revised to give the car a sleeker profile. Base models feature the word “Cadillac” in block letters on the fins, and the sides of the car boast five longer horizontal wind splits ahead of the unskirted rear wheel housing. The front fender horizontal moldings with crests are placed above the trailing edge and there is no rocker sill trim. The convertible and the De Villes boast solid metal trim on the lower half of the conical projection flares, while other models have a thin ridge molding in the same location. The Series 62 Eldorado’s unique features include a V-shaped ornament and model identification script mounted to the deck lid, making it truly distinctive.

The power switch to the dash lights had a small piece brake off. So we restored the switch and section that feeds power to the dash lights.
